There are, of course, loads of things I could do, (ironing/spring cleaning) but I flit to one and then another instead.

Sammy is perfectly happy in lockdown - nothing much alters his routine unless someone is late with his lunch!
The garden has been our lifesaver, and providing you like rampant wild gardens, has been looking wonderful. Strawberries a bit of a disappointment - but Hey, you can't have everything!
A drop of rain turns our Cotinus (Smoke bush) into a wondrous be-jeweled delight.
In the conservatory my orchids have been hit by a disastrous attack of mealy bug and I am distraught on a weekly basis. Yes I know in the scheme of things it's not the end of the world, but........it is to me.
Thankfully other plants have mostly managed to escape the deadly scourge and 'Harlequin' Streptocarpus is one of my favourites.
Many years ago we acquired a lovely set of hanging shelves from my grandparents' home, scraped off years of paint and use it to display our favourite pieces. This box features two dressers I painted and distressed for a collection of 'ancient and modern' and a few handmade pieces of my own. I hesitate to list the current wonderful miniaturists because I don't want to leave anyone out. I'm sure you'll recognise them.
The antique dresser on the right, which is also filled with beautiful glassware is from around 1880 and belonged to the tall girl in the photograph, who was a much loved aunt. She in turn would have inherited it from her mother.

Good to read a blog post of you, dear Robin, especially in these odd times. Is everything is okay with the both of you, are you both in good health?
What for you is your walkings, for me it's riding my bike. It's so nice to be able to escape my home for a nice bike ride on my beautiful countryside ;). I see that you enjoy much your beautiful garden, and as I told you before: I like seeing your garden plants, but also your plants in the conservatory. It's such a pity that the mealy bug got your beautiful orchids :(......I hope you've found the guilty critter??
Here, in The Netherlands, the Corona virus is still active, as in: it is reviving now more than a month ago after ending the lockdown. Unfortunately lots of people don't take this virus serious anymore. It's so sad that they don't take the restrictions so serious anymore, after seeing for months the sad news of so many people, who have died, young AND old!

Hi Ilona, we're fine but still in lockdown for a couple of weeks longer due to old health issues, but honestly we're fine. It will be good to get out a little more when we can, although we shall observe all the restrictions, and like you, worry that too many don't seem to.
I've been a while before blogging because of family bits and pieces, but I've still been reading all of yours and enjoy every one.

There is always something happening in our gardens and it is good that you know what to do to combat the orchids because it can feel like the end of the world when a favourite plant is unexpectedly hit with a plague of mealy bugs or aphids. UGGGG!
Last year I had a lovely variegated euphorbia coated with a sooty mildew which looked DREADFUL and was difficult to scrub off my wood siding as well- as I say-it is always something!
Meanwhile the two little cupboards on display are lovely especially grouped with the photo of your aunt as a girl, and the history behind the glassware on display in one of the cupboards- what a treat and how proud she would be if she knew how her little treasures have now become yours!
