I have just been hugely lucky enough to purchase a wonderful antique miniature glass tea set. I am SO excited!!
My great mate Celia Thomas of KT Miniatures has acquired a unique life-time collection of antique and vintage miniature glassware which is now available to purchase and is flying out of the door as I type I believe.
As many of you will know, apart from being chums and partners in Nostalgia in Miniature Workshops, we live near each other so I spent a wonderful morning recently looking at this unique collection from a collector who has now had to downsize. I was in heaven!!
I think individual items are Victorian through to 1930s but take a look at the website - I'm no expert!!
Anyway........while I would love to own lots of the pretty/unusual/exotic/beautiful/rare/unique pieces I have fought my way through the crowds to purchase this wonderful (1910-20 I reckon) tea set which I think is so-called mercury glass and has the most wonderful metalic greeny lustre. It reminds me of the fabulous vintage glass Christmas tree baubles I played with as a child and occasionally shattered into thousands of glittering wafer-thin shards.
Maybe you'll be tempted like me, but if you just want to have an indulgent few moments looking at 180 examples of the finest, wafer thin glassware and learn a little more about it click HERE...go NOW and follow her links!!
Thanks for looking
